Two leading edge presentations related to the Best Management Practices (BMP's) for Residential Curbside Recycling Collection Strategies and Successful Strategies for Residential Source Separation Organics (SSO) Food Waste Diversion - North American Update.


Richmond, British Columbia - VisionQuest Environmental Strategies Corp. official (Dave Douglas) presented to an audience of solid waste industry professionals attending the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) Pacific Canadian Waste Resource Symposium held April 2nd - 4th, 2014.  Over three hundred professionals in the solid waste & recycling industry from from sea to sea attended this world class event.


Along with other speakers, Dave Douglas  of VisionQuest Environmental presented one paper in the Technical Recycling Collection Session entitled Best Management Practices for Residential Curbside Recycling Collection Strategies (paper available to those interested) which compared the system costs, effectiveness and public attitudes towards the use of blue box(es), automated carts (wheeled bins) and "see through" blue bags for the residential curbside collection of recyclables.

Dave presented a second paper in a second Technical Organics Collection Session entitled Successful Strategies for Residential Source Separation Organics (SSO) Food Waste Diversion - North American Update which included the importance of utilizing certified compostable bags for the collection of residential food organic material.
