Canadians have become enthusiastic about curbside recycling. From paper and packaging containers to organic waste, recycling has become a diverse industry.
Municipal governments are weighing the costs and efficiencies of recycling programs. Two different methods of collection recyclables - blue boxes verses "see through" blue plastic bags - are discussed in this article. The two authors (Don Holiday & David Douglas) have many years of experience in municipal waste management which they bring to bear in stating the business case for Blue Box versus "See Through" Blue Bag curbside recycling.
